Communicating Effectively About Racism

October 24, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

A Workshop in Non-Violent Conversation/Action
with Rev. Willard Bass of the Institute for Dismantling Racism,

and Rev. Christy Clore

In this workshop we will address “difficult conversations” about race.
Do you get tongue tied when a total stranger makes a disturbing remark in your presence? Are you frustrated with your ability to communicate effectively when racism emerges in conversations with family members or co-workers? We invite you to bring stories from your own experiences to share with the group.
Together we will work out a range of possible solutions and practice holding a respectful but firm space in response to such remarks. What you learn here will also be useful for engaging in difficult political conversations and other realms of conflict.

To inquire or register, please contact Sydney Hughes-McGee at 336 775 7313 or bodyandearth18@gmail.com. To learn more about IDR, go to www.idrusnow.org.
