Stranger-to-Neighbor Gathering & Letter-Writing

Please join us, and invite your families, friends, and congregations, to a Stranger-to-Neighbor Gathering & Letter-Writing on Sunday, September 15 from 3-5 pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church (1416 Bolton St., Winston-Salem NC 27103)!  I have attached flyers in English and Spanish.

All are invited to this bilingual (Spanish / English) program to:

• Connect with immigrant neighbors and allies,

• Learn about local organizing, led by the Latinx immigrant community, to secure safety, dignity, and opportunity, and

• Act by writing our NC Senators in support of H.R. 6, the American Dream & Promise Act of 2019, which would provide a pathway to citizenship for immigrants eligible for DACA, TPS, and DED.  An information sheet and sample letter is available at: https://tinyurl.com/DreamAndPromise2019-NC.

Local Latinx faith and community leaders will share about opportunities to support local organizing and legislative advocacy to secure the rights of immigrant neighbors.  We will also hear from recipients of DACA and TPS about how these programs have enabled them to contribute to our community, the consequences of losing protections if Congress does not act, and the importance of a pathway to citizenship.
